PUCT Comments on Large Load Interconnection Standards

A competitive Texas economy depends on energy that’s both reliable AND affordable. That requires effective grid planning, which in turn depends on a clear view of the energy load that’s coming online. And that requires companies to show they’re really coming to Texas.

In comments to the Public Utility Commission of Texas, TEBA is recommending a simple planning process for companies that want to plug into the ERCOT grid, including a requirement to make a financial contribution toward new interconnection infrastructure — once they do, regulators can include those new loads in forecasting and transmission planning analyses.
